...Why thank you, Jack. I'm glad you enjoyed it!
WHAT?!?! Complaints about the soundtrack?! *haughty sniff* Philistines.
I know what you mean, I never paid much attention to dwarfs before this either, but they really came to life for me in the movie. And yeah, I want to visit their hall too.
I can't wait to get some better, extended looks at Smaug. How am I going to wait an entire year for the next segment?!Mary Ruth Pursselleyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03325447738032828151noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4249809056594376069.post-44572109022046717562012-12-21T10:19:39.282-06:002012-12-21T10:19:39.282-06:00I've heard complaints about the soundtrack. Th... I've heard complaints about the soundtrack. That they were just playing the Misty Mountain song over and over and it got dull and old. I almost fell over. In The LOTR I loved that they used almost the same songs, it made it familiar and when one has such amazing music, why change it? And in this one, I felt the same. The Misty Mountain song is beautiful, haunting, sad, and full of hope and I think it is one of the best pieces of music written since the first movies and Forbidden Friendship from How to Train your Dragon. I don't see how anyone can not like it.

And they added in the Blunt the Knives song which completely made my night. I had silent panics they would leave it out, but I should have trusted Peter Jackson. The man is brilliant. And a fellow geek, which helps a lot.

The dwarves...oh, the dwarves. Out of all those in Middle Earth, they were the ones I overlooked the most. And now...oh, they are so amazing! I would have loved to have gone to their hall, so very much. It was lovely and I was silently begging Smaug not to break everything - he didn't listen, of course.

Smaug himself looks as if he is going to be amazing. I had a bit of worry because even with all the new CGI, dragons still end up looking fake. Form what was shown of Smaug, it looks as if he is going to be very real looking.

And now I've left another ranty comment...I've been putting these on almost every Hobbit post I've read. *Grin*

I liked your review!Jackhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04395502314886308773noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4249809056594376069.post-8745303123281175902012-12-19T13:01:30.166-06:002012-12-19T13:01:30.166-06:00Welcome aboard, Joseph! : )Welcome aboard, Joseph! : )Mary Ruth Pursselleyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03325447738032828151noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4249809056594376069.post-22473786828753617872012-12-19T13:01:10.850-06:002012-12-19T13:01:10.850-06:00You're very welcome. : )
